Kansas City Tree Services That Promote Healthy Tree Growth
Healthy trees are the centerpiece of a beautiful yard. They provide shade during the summer and are essential to the environment for their role in reducing the effects of carbon emissions. Further, healthy and well-maintained trees increase property values and boost curb appeal. Although other aspects of your landscaping, such as shrubs and gardens may contribute to the overall look, only trees add real monetary value.

Questions about Tree Planting, Relocation, and Tree Care
Our clients ask us really great questions when we visit their properties to talk about tree planting, relocation, and ongoing care. These are some of the most common ones we hear. If we don’t cover your question below, call us at (816) 237-0705.
After you plant a new tree, how do I take care of it?
Newly planted trees require plenty of water and additional care steps to ensure they stay healthy and grow properly. New trees should be watered weekly for the first season after they’re planted, especially if rainwater is scarce. We also recommend mulching between 2 and 4 inches deep around the tree, in a diameter that is 2 to 3 times the diameter of the root ball.
Do I need to stake a newly planted tree?
You only need to add stakes if absolutely necessary for structural integrity. Most trees thrive without stakes.
What shade tree species do you recommend?
For the best chances of success with your new tree, our professional arborists recommend that you choose a species that is native to Missouri. For shade trees, you can’t go wrong with a native oak species, such as a white oak or bur oak. Our team can recommend a tree species based on your soil type, the location of the tree in your landscape, and your personal preference.
